Locum costs are not fully covered by the HSE and are, on average, €2375 per week.

Could you afford to be sick?

If you become unwell, it is not just the loss of income that will affect you. Contracting a locum to provide cover for your practice is a significant cost and not entirely covered by the HSE. The HSE Locum payment reduces over time and ceases entirely after one year.

Deferred plans to work with your sick leave scheme

In recent times, the HSE Sick Leave Scheme has been halved, down to three months full pay / three months half. A deferred period plan provides a benefit that commences when your HSE Sick Leave Scheme benefit reduces and ultimately ceases. This ensures a continuance of salary so that you can maintain your standard of living and focus on your recovery.

If you are employed, we will work with any sick payment arrangements you might have to provide maximum salary continuance. A deferred period policy starts when your employer benefit ceases, ensuring that you are covered for every eventuality. Whether it’s a medium term accident / illness or a longer-term serious condition, you will be covered as long as you are unable to work.

Tailored Income Protection policies to suit your specific requirements

We will develop a personalised policy to suit your specific financial situation and requirements. This is done by helping you to work out the level of cover that best suits your circumstances, giving you the peace of mind that you will be covered if you are unable to work due to accident or illness (up to 75% of your income, less social welfare).

  • All Accidents & Illnesses Covered
  • Tax Relief At The Marginal Rate

When I applied for income protection in 2013, I was in perfect health. Then suddenly I found myself laid up with broken bones from a serious car accident. I had barely paid my first premium, but Omega honoured their word. I never had to worry about payment, and the claim form was simple and quick. It was one major headache I didn’t have to deal with. I would recommend every professional to seek income protection, because you never know what lies ahead.
